This new post is the first of many to be created and seen in 2020. It is dedicated to looking at the good, bad and ugly of a community that is entering the next Presidential race in a rare position of influence. Once the little bother/sister/cousin to Chicago - just 90 miles to the south - Milwaukee will for a brief shining moment be in the spotlight as it hosts the Democratic National Convention this coming summer.

While this has the potential to bring a positive spotlight to the Cream City, it also has potential pitfalls. Those scores of visitors will have the opportunity to sample the best of Milwaukee. On the flip side, those same people may also experience something less than pure, for this city is a stew of the same urban woes as destinations twice and many more its size. Milwaukee is a product of its history and that reflection, the positives that have occurred over the past few decades and the less-than-flattering realities of today will soon be documented here. Stay tuned.
